Customized Forging and CNC Machined Parts-Metal Forging Parts
Forging quality inspection items are as follows:
(1) Geometry and size
Generally, the external dimensions of forgings are detected with measuring tools such as steel rulers, calipers, and templates; die forgings with complex shapes can be accurately detected by scribing.
(2) Surface quality
If there are cracks, crushing and folding defects on the surface of the forgings, they can generally be found with the naked eye. Sometimes the cracks are very small, and when the depth of the fold is unknown, it can be observed after cleaning the shovel; if necessary, the flaw detection method can be used for inspection.
(3) Internal organization
Whether there are cracks, inclusions, looseness and other defects inside the forging, the macroscopic structure on the forging section can be checked with the naked eye or with a magnifying glass of 10 to 30 times. The commonly used method in production is acid etching inspection, that is, the sample is cut from the part of the forging that needs to be inspected, and the defects of the macrostructure on the section can be clearly displayed by etching with acid solution, such as the distribution of forging streamlines, cracks and inclusions. Wait.
(4) Metallographic inspection
With the help of metallographic microscope to observe the inspection method of the fracture structure of forgings, the carbide distribution, grain size and decarburization depth can be checked.
(5) Mechanical properties
The mechanical properties test items are mainly hardness, tensile strength and impact toughness. Sometimes according to the design requirements of the parts, it can also be used for cold bending test and fatigue test.
The above quality inspection items are sometimes used separately according to the design requirements and actual production conditions, sometimes they are inspected piece by piece, and sometimes they are sampled for each batch of forgings. Through quality inspection, it is possible to assess whether the forgings are qualified . For defective forgings, the causes should be analyzed and measures to prevent defects should be proposed
